Benchmark Community Bank recently renewed its annual support for downtown revitalization in Farmville. South Main Street Branch Manager Teresa Stewart presented Farmville Downtown Partnership Executive Director Helen Person with a $1,000 gift to assist the 501c3 non-profit organization with its programs and services.
“The historic Main Street District known as Farmville Downtown is critical to the growth of our greater community,” Stewart said of the financial institution’s commitment. “Benchmark recognizes how important it is for us to support creating an inviting environment where people want to invest their time, energy, and resources. Benchmark believes Farmville Downtown Partnership is making great strides toward that goal. We want to be part of that long term effort.”
In accepting the gift on behalf of the organization, Person commented, “The growth and vitality of the traditional downtown neighborhood depends upon the support of business and industry assisting us to create incentives and programs that reinforce our mission and vision. We are most grateful to Benchmark Community Bank not only for their financial support, but for the volunteer support we receive from Teresa and other Benchmark employees who give of their time, talents, skills, and personal resources to help us be successful in our efforts.”
