One of our interns here at the Farmville Downtown Partnership, Carrie Boswell, a senior at Hollins University and local resident of Farmville, VA, is starting her half marathon training this week! You can follow Carrie as she trains from now until the Marathon on her blog on the Farmville Downtown website. She will be sharing her training tips, schedules, successes and challenges and she prepares for the big event.
How about you? Are you ready to run? This week marks 12 weeks until Farmville Downtown’s Second Annual High Bridge Half Marathon & 5K, on September 6th. The race is produced by Farmville Downtown Partnership and Virginia State Parks and is generously supported by CENTRA Southside Community Hospital. Now is the ideal time to lace up those running shoes and start training! Most programs recommend starting training 12 to 13 weeks before your half marathon’s scheduled date. Here are a few of Carrie’s recommendations for half marathon training programs:
