CENTRA Southside Community Hospital is investing $10,000 to support Farmville Downtown Partnership in its continuing revitalization efforts for Farmville Downtown. Fund Development Team Co-Chair Paul Brammer made the announcement during the Downtown Champions event held January 21st at Charley’s Waterfront Café in Farmville Downtown.
Commenting on CENTRA’s gift to Farmville Downtown Partnership, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-President Bill Bass said, “CENTRA Southside Community Hospital is dedicated to making a positive impact on the overall physical, mental, and economic health of the community we serve. A big part of that commitment is ensuring our community provides opportunities for good jobs, great places to visit with family and friends, and a healthy environment contributing to the collective well-being.
“Farmville Downtown is the city center for a much larger regional population looking to it as their traditional downtown neighborhood,” he continued. “The collaborative work that Farmville Downtown Partnership is doing to elevate the role of Downtown mirrors CENTRA’s commitment to supporting an exciting place that radiates good health into the greater community. We are proud to be a part of the revitalization taking place to perpetuate solid economic, environmental, and social community health.
In accepting CENTRA’s gift, Farmville Downtown Partnership President John Miller said. “We are honored and humbled to be a recipient of CENTRA’s continuing generosity toward this community. They’ve been with us since the beginning of our efforts to bring new life into Farmville Downtown. Their support has been invaluable toward our being able to continue our programs, services, and events. We are most appreciative of their commitment to a vibrant downtown core.”
Farmville Downtown Partnership Fund Development team member Franklin Grant said the focus on public-private partnership makes the Main Street program desirable for community building. “The downtown neighborhood is where community growth began,” the retired Longwood fund development professional observed. “Bringing the traditional core back to life is a win-win for everyone. I am delighted that CENTRA is committed to helping us return our downtown to good health. It’s exciting to be part of this effort.”
