Why not volunteer for a few hours for the Downtown Farmville/High Bridge State Park Half-Marathon/5K race?
This is the race’s third year and aims to raise money for the revitalization of downtown. This includes community events, entrepreneur workshops, façade grants, and development of educational materials focused on the history, heritage, and architecture of downtown. The races are also designed to encourage visitors to come to Farmville and to offer residents something else fun to do locally. Many of y’all have helped the last two years far exceeding our expectations.
What we need:
THURSDAY, FRIDAY: Thursday evening or Friday afternoon, you can assist with the filling of runners’ bags or greeting runners as they arrive and register.
SATURDAY: The half-marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., but we need folks beforehand to help with parking and during the race to cheer on runners. Everyone gets a sweet, sweet t-shirt.
